OFFUTT AFB, E4B DOOMSDAY AIRCRAFT
Noon to 1:00 p.m.  9/13/2017
Oak Hills Country Club, 12325 Golfing Green Dr., Omaha, NE 68137
Andrew Machinga will discuss the Air Force E4B Nightwatch program. Fortunately, it has never come to this; but if the United States ever found itself in the middle of a nuclear war, it would need the ability to get a command and control center off the ground and away from potential attack targets in just minutes. That's precisely what the National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC) is all about. A set of four E-4Bs -- which are Boeing 747-200s modified to support the military's doomsday communications needs -- these planes were designed to allow the country's most senior military officials to stay in charge and control during a nuclear crisis, or something approaching that level of seriousness.

THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AT BROWNELL TALBOT
Noon to 1:00 p.m.  9/27/2017
Oak Hills Country Club, 12325 Golfing Green Dr., Omaha, NE 68137
Bill Harrell, Upper School Head, will present information on the rigorous educational programs at Brownell Talbot. Brownell Talbot School was founded by the Rt. Rev. Joseph Cruickshank Talbot, D.D., then the Episcopal Bishop of the Northwest. Bishop Talbot's decision was inspired by his desire to bring cultural and educational opportunities to the daughters of the pioneers, while sparing them the long journey to eastern boarding schools. Brownell was made coeducational in 1952. Our club hosts Brownell students each year when we have our Oratorical Contest.
